Another Christmas Tradition

Setting up a Nativity has always been a huge part of my Christmas, and this is the tale of my three Nativities.

This looks like the one I grew up with.  Setting up the tree was the most important part of Christmas decorating, but the nativity was a close second.  My parents made sure we took turns, but my brother and I usually squabbled over Baby Jesus.  When I was 13, my little sister came along.  She was lucky...she got all the turns.

This is the Nativity my kids grew up with.  It wasn’t Christmas till we set up the tree, and the Nativity.  I have a new one, but this is the one my kids prefer.  I guess, with Nativities, older is better!

This is my newest Nativity, and probably my last.  I’ve been searching for a grown-up version for years.  I found this one, this year.  I was looking at another one, but this one said, “I’m the one.” So, it came home, and sits in my kitchen window.  Every time I look at it, I’m happy.

When I write, I can only have one voice in my head, mine.  A little noise is fine.  But too much, or worse yet, WORDS, and I must change rooms or pull out headphones.  Then I can write on!
