Living In Mexico
Written by Chloe Perkins
Illustrated by Tom Woolley
Ages: 5  - 7
Grade Level: K – 2

I loved this book! It’s great for research and so readable! It gves you all the important facts you need for a report, like where Mexico is , right next to Guatemala. It tells you about the population, more than 120 million, the geography, landforms, weather, and major cities. Rosa is your guide. She shows you where her parents work and what school is like. Did you know Mexican children learn to speak 2 languages, Spanish and English? They study history from the ancient Indians onward. If you’d like to try Rosa’s favorite snack, sprinkle chili powder on pineapple and grab a glass of lime juice. School is over at 2:00. That’s when Mexican kids go to after-school programs. Want to know more? Read the back matter to discover quick facts like the capital, total area, government, money, and the flag. My favorite involves chocolate…YUM!

If you like this book, check out the rest of the series. A quick trip to your library, and you can travel around the world. Bon Voyage!

Whenever I read or write, I find a comfy chair with a great view.  I get my favorite drink, stretch out, and let the words take me away.
